Combi Boilers

Combi Boilers (or Combination Boilers to give them their full name) as the name suggests, combine your heating and hot water all into one. Another great advange is that you don't need any storage or hot water tanks so they take up less room and you get virtually instantaneous hot water each time you turn on the tap.

This type of boiler will provide bath after bath full of hot water on demand but it is important to remember that in the summer when your heating is off there may be a short delay in getting hot water to a tap as the boiler has to heat up first.

However, it doesn't take long and you probably wouldn't notice it being any different to your old system where you had to run the water for a little while before it got hot anyway. Just think, no more waiting for the hot water tank to heat up again after you have run a bath before the next person can have one. Just turn on the tap and fill the bath as many times as you like !

Early Combi boilers were not very reliable but as with everything the newer ones are very good, many of them these days being greater than 90% efficient.

With a new efficient boiler, you could be making significant savings on your gas bills. Data from the Energy Saving trust suggests that you can save up to a quarter on your heating bills by replacing your boiler and heating controls. It will also reduce CO2 emissions so you will also be helping improve the environment.
